by Ruth Marie Brown

We've had a new beginning,
It came in our later years,
And just to think about it,
Fills my eyes with joyous tears.

For, though we've raised a bunch of kids,
Each one of great import,
This one seems, somehow, special -
A love of a different sort.

I laughed, when I heard the news,
Watched my husband smile with joy,
When our middle son said merrily,
Hey, Grandpa, It's a boy!
