The Other Woman

by Ruth Marie Brown

Hello, Mrs. Baron? This is Ruth,
I don't think you know me at all.
I'm your husband's "other woman",
And he's not expecting this call.

I don't like bing branded,
It's really not my style.
I thought, perhaps, you'd like to know
Where he goes when he's "out for a while".

The reasons are many and varied.
He tells me he loves me -- so what?
He runs to me when you hurt him,
And, believe me, you've hurt him a lot.

I really don't want your husband,
Though you'd have to be mad to believe.
I only want his happiness.
If it's you he wants, I'll leave.

So ask him, please, Mrs. Baron,
To make up his mind, so I'll know.
If it's me he love, I'll stay with him.
If it's you he loves, I'll go.
